Ask for a clue before giving up (research supported!)
According to studies cited in a podcast (Stuff to Blow Your Mind) about the 'tip of the tongue' effect (https://podcast-delivery.streaming.stufftoblowyourmind.com/sciencelab/2018-03-10-stbym-vault-tip-of-tounge.mp3/2018-03-10-stbym-vault-tip-of-tounge.mp3_a6d112e9e02964986eac84697f44e4af_20466456.mp3?awCollectionId=1004&hash_redirect=1&listeningSessionID=5a83445d35affe0c_3699992_W7Z6vIxV__0000002gGjm) it seems that if you don't get the answer right away, getting the solution will reduce the likelihood of remembering a word the next time it comes up (the more time you have spent trying to find the word, the worse). However, this can be avoided if the word is remembered after only a clue has been given (for example the first letter of the word).
Based on this, I strongly suggest that you add the option of getting a clue before turning the flash card over.
This is already available.
In review mode, click on the keyboard on the bottom right, the first clue is seeing all the letters/words, you can then click on the light bulb on the bottom left to have the first letter/word given to you.
Happy remembering :)

For me, I think the keyboard option is Too much of a clue. I want a whisper in the ear, not a blow to the head. Ya know?

When I can not find the solution at all I click on the keyboard-symbol (to the right of 'turn flashcard' button) and try to build the solution out of the letters that appear.
